  • Sales Qualification Agent. GA 25 October 2025; rollout from 26 October 2025 for early-access environments.1
  • Customer Intent Agent (Customer Service / Contact Center). GA from 24 October 2025; discovers, maintains, and applies a library of customer intents from historic and live interactions.2
  • Case Management Agent (Customer Service). Public preview April 2025, GA October 2025; now supports voice calls and social channels in addition to chat and email.3
  • Sales Research Agent. Public preview from 1 October 2025; connects to Dataverse, Fabric Lakehouse, or uploaded Excel/CSV/PDF and answers complex sales-data questions via natural language.4
  • Real-time voice agents in Copilot Studio and Dynamics 365 Contact Center. GA 27 April 2026; support natural speech, interruption, multi-language switching, and DTMF fallback. The underlying real-time voice model is North America only.5
  • Supplier Communications Agent (Supply Chain Management). Production-ready preview; not yet GA.6
  • Finance in Microsoft 365 Copilot (the rebranded Microsoft Copilot for Finance). GA 20 October 2025; brings ERP-connected data into Copilot, Excel, and Outlook.7
  • Service Agent for Microsoft 365 Copilot in Dynamics 365. Public preview as of 31 March 2026 (not GA).8

What the features actually do (GA vs preview)

GA

  • Sales Qualification Agent. Autonomously researches leads, initiates personalized outreach, and engages prospects in seller-driven and fully autonomous modes.1
  • Case Management Agent. Handles case follow-up and closure fully autonomously: once a resolution is proposed it can send follow-up messages, track SLA intervals, and auto-close cases if no further action is required.3
  • Copilot in Field Service. Summarizes work orders and service accounts, surfaces record changes, prepares technicians for on-site visits, and now powers agentic resource scheduling alongside manual/automated modes.9
  • Real-time voice agents. GA (April 2026) for contact-center voice flows, with the caveat that the speech model is currently North America only.5
  • Customer Knowledge Management Agent. Analyzes closed cases plus related notes, conversations, and emails to draft or update knowledge-base articles, and can apply automated compliance checks to redact sensitive data before publication.10

Voice model regional gap

The underlying real-time voice model for Copilot Studio / Dynamics 365 Contact Center voice agents is currently North America only — non-NA deployments cannot use the GA voice agent capability.5

  • Default model. Microsoft Copilot Studio's default became GPT-4.1 between 27-31 October 2025, retiring GPT-4o for generative-orchestration agents (GCC customers excepted).11
  • GPT-5 / 5.2. GPT-5 Chat reached GA in Copilot Studio for European and US regions on 24 November 2025; GPT-5.2 (Thinking and Instant variants) shipped in Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Studio on 11 December 2025.12
  • Anthropic Claude. Sonnet 4 and Opus 4.1 became selectable in Copilot Studio on 24 September 2025, joining the multi-model lineup.13 Anthropic became a formal Microsoft subprocessor in January 2026, bringing it contractually under Microsoft's Product Terms and DPA.14
  • Microsoft Foundry. Claude Sonnet 4.5, Haiku 4.5, and Opus 4.1 are in public preview via serverless deployment.15

Anthropic not in EU Data Boundary

Anthropic-served Claude requests are processed on Anthropic infrastructure in AWS or GCP datacenters located primarily in the US — not in Azure. Anthropic is not covered by the EU Data Boundary, and admin opt-in is required for EU/EFTA/UK tenants.16

Data handling

  • No training on prompts. Microsoft does not use customer prompts or completions in Dynamics 365 Copilot to train, retrain, or improve Azure OpenAI foundation models. The tenant-level opt-out is in Power Platform Admin Center → Tenant Settings → "Data sharing for Dynamics 365 Copilot and Power Platform Copilot AI Features."17
  • EU Data Boundary + Flex routing. For Dynamics 365 / Power Platform environments inside the EU Data Boundary, Azure OpenAI endpoints in the same boundary are used; optional "Flex routing" lets inferencing spill outside the EUDB during peak demand if the customer enables it.18
  • In-country processing. Microsoft expanded in-country processing of Microsoft 365 Copilot interactions to 15 countries by November 2025, adding Australia, the UK, India, and Japan among others.19
  • Opt-out behavior. If a customer opts out of Copilot data sharing, any feedback or data Microsoft had previously stored to improve Copilot features is deleted, and Microsoft stops using that data for any AI-improvement purposes.20

Anthropic off by default for EU/EFTA/UK

The Anthropic admin toggle is enabled by default in most commercial tenants as of 8 December 2025, but is off by default for EU/EFTA and UK tenants pending admin opt-in.21

Microsoft's customer-service pricing posture is shifting from purely per-seat to consumption-based, with Copilot Credits as the metering currency for first-party AI agents.27

Independent assessments

  • Analyst recognition — CEC. Microsoft was named a Leader in the 2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant for CRM Customer Engagement Center (announced 6 November 2025).28 Independent recap notes Salesforce remained the top-ranked CEC vendor.
  • Analyst recognition — SFA. Microsoft was also a Leader in the 2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Sales Force Automation Platforms (30 July 2025).29
  • Copilot seat count. Microsoft 365 Copilot reached over 20 million paid seats as of FY2026 Q2 earnings; customers with more than 50,000 seats quadrupled year-over-year. The largest deployment is Accenture at 740,000+ seats.30
  • Revenue growth. Microsoft reported Dynamics 365 revenue grew 23% in constant currency in a recent quarter, with named wins including Verizon (Sales), Domino's Pizza Group (ERP), and 1-800-Flowers (Contact Center).31
  • Pilot-to-production gap. Gartner's 2025 Microsoft 365 and Copilot survey found only 5% of organizations that finished pilots were moving to larger deployment, with 40% still piloting — i.e., adoption past pilot stage remains weak.32
  • Vendor benchmarks (treat with caution). On Microsoft's internal Sales Research Bench evaluation (19 October 2025), the Sales Research Agent outscored Claude Sonnet 4.5 by 13 points and ChatGPT-5 by 24.1 points on a 100-point scale. On a separate sales-qualification benchmark (4 December 2025), the Sales Qualification Agent outperformed ChatGPT on Research (+6%), Outreach (+20%), and Engagement (+16%).4

Strength

Scale + reference deployment. Microsoft 365 Copilot reached over 20 million paid seats with the largest deployment (Accenture) at 740,000+ seats, and customers with 50,000+ seats quadrupled YoY.30 Use of Copilot Studio for autonomous chat self-service in Microsoft's own customer-service operations reduced live-agent chat escalations by 25%.28 Microsoft is a Gartner Leader in both 2025 CRM CEC and SFA Magic Quadrants.28 29

Limitation

Pilot-stuck adoption + ecosystem lock. Gartner's 2025 survey found only 5% of organizations that finished Copilot pilots were moving to larger deployment, with 40% still piloting.32 Per Gartner via secondary coverage, Copilot cannot operate as a fully independent agent, struggles with long-running tasks without user prompts, and is "tightly bound" to the Microsoft ecosystem — limiting integration with non-Microsoft systems.32
